Death

Has Grief dealt you a blow with no hope of recovery?

Death respects no one. Death is impersonal, cold, and just so … final. We can talk about the death of a dream, the death of hope, the death of relationships, and ultimately physical death. All of these forms of death are painful to varying degrees.

Another form of death is spiritual death. This is the death that matters most of all because it determines your afterlife. Where you spend eternity is determined by what you did while you had life and breathe here on earth.

It is not uncommon to hear of people who have a fear of death. A well-known TV personality was open about the fact that what he fears the most is physical death. He does not know what will happen to him after he dies or what he should do to get into heaven. The unknown of his future and of who he will face leads him to be filled with fear when discussing death. Others believe that after life there is nothing but darkness. After living a vibrant, multi- dimensional life in a world filled with brilliant colors, and teeming with fascinating sights and sounds and personalities, some believe that all there is after life is …. nothing. But, there has to be more! How can a world overflowing with adventure, passion, and life be followed by an eternity of … Nothing? Who wrote that script?

If you don’t know how to get into heaven or where you will spend eternity then you really do have reason … good reason … to have a fear of death. But, there is an answer and that is found in the Bible. The Bible says that there is one way to heaven and that is by believing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Believing is more than just acknowledging that Jesus is the Son of God but it means that you give Him control of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. See, Jesus Christ came to earth over two thousand years ago to show us how to gain access to God, the Father.

God is perfect and in Him there is no sin. The penalty for those who have sinned is death. Death is eternal separation from God. Since all of humanity has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfection, how can we establish a relationship with Him? Who will pay the penalty for our sin? Well, God loves you and me so much that He gave His Son, His one and only Son Jesus Christ, to pay that penalty for us by dying on the cross.

But the story does not end there. Jesus is perfect love and He rose again three days after being crucified. Death could not hold Him! Jesus then returned to his rightful place, at the right hand of God the Father in heaven. The Bible says that if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you will be with Him in heaven for eternity! While physical death is inevitable for each of us, we do not have to fear death for we can live with God forever.

Would you like to be sure of your fate after death? If you are ready, join me as we talk to Jesus now…

“Dear Jesus, I know that my behavior and life choices will keep me from heaven. Please forgive me for what I have done. Please teach me how to live rightly and with integrity. I surrender my heart to you and ask that you take control of my life now. Thank you.”
