KIDS EXPECTATIONS

Just as our volunteers have their own expectations, we have a set of them for your children too. Below you’ll find 5 things they will be accountable to:

1.

KIDS WILL LISTEN WHILE OTHERS ARE TALKING

Whether this be during the lesson or at other times, our Manhattan First kids will be respectful and listen while Pastor Megan, volunteers or even other children are talking.

2.

KIDS WILL KEEP THEIR HANDS TO THEMSELVES

Children are allowed to welcome one another with hi-fives, fist bumps, even hugs. During games and various activities they will participate in, it will require them to interact but outside of those things kids need to keep their hands to themselves. There is no sitting on, carrying on the shoulders, wrestling, etc. We want our kids to know their space will be respected. Hitting, biting, or aggressive physical contact in any form is not tolerated among our Manhattan First kids.

3.

KIDS WILL FOLLOW DIRECTIONS WILLINGLY

Our volunteers in mint green shirts Manhattan First Kids shirts have authority to direct your children for the duration of the service time. When asked to stand up, stop doing something, ect., our kids will be expected to comply with what is being asked of them. Kids will not be allowed to continuously fight with or not adhere to a volunteers request.

4.

KIDS WILL RESPECT THE VOLUNTEER AND KIDS AROUND THEM

Name calling, perverse talk, belittling, etc. will not be tolerated among our Manhattan First Kids. Ephesians 4:29

5.

KIDS WILL ACT IN A CHRIST-LIKE MANOR

Every child is expected to exhibit kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and more as they treat others the way they wish to be treated. Ephesians 4:32

If we have a child who habitually has trouble following these standards,Pastor Megan will then mention it to parents to discuss how we can best move forward as to not disrupt our services.
